The power plant of “Greenhouses at the Don” works in the regular operation mode
ROLT energy service did emergency overhaul of gas reciprocating genset which is integrated into the plant “Greenhouses at the Don” in Kaliningrad.
Containerized power plant with two Caterpillar G3516C gensets has been working already for ten years. It runs for 70000 motor hours. In 2014 one of the units was emergency stopped. The first diagnostics discovered faults at Terberg control panel. After several unsuccessful attempts to find and eliminate the defect the management of “Greenhouses at the Don” addressed to ROLT energy service. Its specialists analyzed and repaired the control system of the power plant within one day. After the works finished the unit was integrated into local grid of the power center and the plant started to work again.
It is worth mentioning that ROLT energy service and “Greenhouses at the Don” agreed to run diagnostics of the power equipment followed by overhaul. It is scheduled in April 2015.
According to Vladimir Litvinov, CEO of ROLT energy service, recently a lot of greenhousing companies addressed to ROLT for service and maintenance of their generating equipment. “Power generation for greenhouses is very effective. It helps to reduce costs of power and heat”, - says Vladimir. He considers that general efficiency of gas reciprocating gensets can achieve 95%. Moreover, apart from electricity and heat generated by power plant greenhouses often use carbon dioxide of exhaust gases to accelerate plant photosynthesis.
Note:
“Greenhouses at the Don” is one of the biggest and oldest greenhousing companies in Kaliningrad region. At the territory of 7,1 ha it grows up cucumbers, tomatoes and other vegetables that you can find practically in all retail chains of the region. The company owns two Caterpillar G3516C gensets of total capacity 2000 kW.
