25.09.2014 ROLT victory in Saint-PetersburgIn September 13 and 14 ROLT group took part in two most massive city races in the championship of Saint-Petersburg and the championship of Saint-Petersburg yachting union, that are the oldest yachting competitions in the city. Races were held in several stages on two distances – А (cruising yacht racing) and C (sailing boards). The championship took place in the Gulf of Finland and gathered more than 150 participants from different countries, among them there were representatives of the largest companies in the world. Competition participants were divided into 8 scoring groups in accordance with vessel classification. Cetus class yachts, which our yacht Fortune II belongs to, participated in two route races, at a distance of about 20 nautical miles, and five races at a distance of 4-8 nautical miles long. We are proud to say that yachting crew under sails of ROLT group won one first and two third places in their group It was a difficult test, but our team has shown itself brilliantly, leaving behind most of its rivals.
The race lasted for two days, though neither the audience, nor the competitors felt tired, because sailing race is not only a reckless sport, but also a stunning performance: boundless sea stretches ahead and beautiful yachts surf the blue calm. Sailing race has become one of the most spectacular sporting events in Saint-Petersburg this autumn. And at the end of the competition the audience warmly welcomed the participants and winners of the race on the shore of the Gulf of Finland . In recent years, the popularity of these races among the inhabitants of the cultural capital is so high that the Ministry of Sport by a special resolution recognized the race as a base sport in Saint- Petersburg.
Tailwind, favour of fortune (it is of no wonder that they say how you call a boat, so it will float), as well as the skill of the crew allowed the ROLT group team to receive prizes in this competition. We have proved that we do not fear of any bends, thanks to coordinated teamwork and professionalism of the crew. These qualities allow ROLT group experts to show good results not only in marine racing, but in all directions of the company's activity.
«In the future, we plan to continue to participate in such competitions and compete for prizes, & mdash; says Alex Ignatiev, Deputy General Director for Production and concurrently chief sailor of ROLT group. — The current race showed us what we still have to work on, to show better results next time»
